Azealia Banks has stirred up drama on Instagram, targeting JT, who just released her debut solo album, “City Cinderella.” Banks criticized JT’s project, calling it “a lazy, bootleg renaissance cover art album with 100% skips.” She also took shots at JT’s fellow City Girl, Yung Miami (Caresha), claiming she “cannot form a clever rap idea or identity to save her life.”
Banks didn’t stop there. She praised Sukihana’s diss track over JT’s album and criticized JT’s relationship with Lil Uzi Vert, noting, “to be fuckin lil uzi vert, and him clearly not helping her says a lot!!!”
Her rant included a direct address to Latto, advising her to ignore Nicki Minaj’s influence and manipulation. Banks wrote: “MULATTO – don’t u dare engage in any more of this weak poison Nicki is throwing at you. I cried watching her demoralize you over things you have no control over. Don’t let Nicki’s manipulation cross up the gifts you have to offer by responding to the sneaky ways in which she sets stuff up.”
Banks also argued that Latto should reclaim her original stage name, “Mulatto,” stating that the controversy over the term is misguided: “These dumb ass SJW don’t know what to be mad at…. ‘Latto is simply an abbreviation of mulatto … that right there should show how stuuuuuuupid a culture that allows rampant use of the word nigger yet has a problem with mulatto.”
She urged Latto not to fall into traps set by others in the industry. She hinted that Nicki Minaj might be setting her up: “Do not walk into the trap sis. Little do you know she may have set that trap for you.”
This isn’t the first time Azealia Banks has publicly attacked other artists; she has previously targeted Beyoncé and others. Banks recently teased a remix of Tinashe’s hit song “Nasty” on social media. An official version has yet to be released.
