Azealia Banks, known for her controversial opinions on various topics, ruffles feathers by throwing her hat behind Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election.
On Tuesday (July 9), the “Soda” rapper made her political stance clear by attending a Donald Trump rally in Doral, Florida, signaling her support for the upcoming presidential election.
Later, Banks took to social media to share a clip of herself mingling with fellow attendees at the rally.
“Of course 🙄 figures…she has always been a 🤡 and a little on the slow 😵💫 side 🤷🏽♀️,” wrote one user, unsurprised by Banks’ support of the disgraced presidential candidate.
Speaking directly to Banks, a user claiming to be a former employee of the rapper prior to her rise to fame wrote: “@azealiabanksforever I used to work under you and I gotta say this is really when u realize we the community supported u but u turn on even those who put u where u r now. I legitly feel hurt by this because my drag queens all of Miami rooted for u when u came down to Miami and we rooted for u hard and u do this? Why? Why turn on the people don’t bring what occurred In Harlem as the reason. You are turning on ur own people for Trump? Girl….r u that far gone? Sis I used to have so much respect for u but now this….wow…..to think I thought of u as a voice…. 💔”

Azealia Banks’ backing of the former president might not shock everyone, considering she endorsed the businessman-turned-politician back in 2016.
“Ok so, I think I’m ready to admit that I’m going to vote for Donald Trump,” she once wrote on X/Twitter. “I think Trump is the only one who truly has the balls to bust up big business.”
Taking aim at other candidates she wrote: “Hilary is too tied in with them and Bernie has no clout. The other candidates are simply … ‘Them hoes over there’ #thots.
“Just because Hilary Clinton and Bernie sanders say nice things about minorities doesn’t mean they actually mean them. Politicians have been saying “nice” things about colored folks and we’ve still been getting fucked.”
It’s worth noting that Banks is not alone in her support of Trump. Waka Flocka, Sexyy Red, Sheff G, and Sleepy Hallow have all previously declared themselves on Team Trump.
