Barack Obama is turning up the summer vibes with his latest playlist, showcasing tracks from Saweetie, 2Pac, and other artists, proving once again that his musical taste is as impressive as his political career.
Taking to Instagram on Monday (August 12), Obama announced that while summer might be ‘winding down,’ he’s cranking up the heat with a playlist full of chart-toppers featuring today’s hottest artists.
The eclectic playlist includes everyone from H.E.R. and Saweetie to Sting and Etta James—proving that former commander in chief’s musical taste spans genres and decades.
“With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!” he wrote in the caption.
Speaking with influencer Carter Gregory (thecarterb) in a new video, the former president, 63, reveals that Sasha and Malia keep his musical horizons fresh and up-to-date.
“I get referrals from my daughters — which keeps me not stuck in the ’80s,” he tells Gregory.
“I’ve got some newer stuff, some older stuff. I tend to mix it up,” he added of his latest playlist.
