Benzino has clapped back at 50 Cent after the rapper shared a video suggesting the former Source publisher was suicidal. On Wednesday, December 18th, 50 posted a clip on Instagram showing Benzino on the floor, holding a knife and tearfully asking his girlfriend to call the police. The post’s caption read: “Benzino caught on video, by his girlfriend Ashley Bell threatening to unalive him self with a knife because she called the cops for him allegedly beating her.”
Benzino quickly addressed the situation, claiming the footage was misunderstood. “First and foremost, I just want to let everybody know I’m okay,” he clarified. “Second of all, that was a rehearsal for a Tubi movie. My girl was helping me out. We was doing a script reading, and that was a rehearsal. I would never ever put my hands on any woman. I’ve never done that in my life. That’s for cowards, and I surely wouldn’t do anything to hurt myself.”
Benzino also took a moment to respond directly to 50 Cent: “Thanks, Curtis, for promoting me. Keep on posting me, that’s dope. I’m in the gym heavy, benching 315. What you doing, Curtis?” In his caption, Benzino teased upcoming projects, including roles in Bloodline 2 and It’s Morning, slated for 2025.
This isn’t the first time Benzino has aimed verbal jabs at 50. On the We in Miami podcast, he boasted about his chances in a boxing match, claiming he could take on 50 with proper training. Benzino even extended challenges to Eminem and Joe Budden, confidently stating, “I’ll knock Eminem out, 30 seconds into the round. I would demolish him.”
For now, Benzino seems to be focused on his upcoming film roles, but the tension with 50 Cent remains palpable.
