Beyoncé recreates all of the iconic moments of Pamela Anderson’s career to urge fans to vote in the new video “Beywatch.”
The promo video for her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris stars Queen Bey as various characters throughout the 90s icon’s career. As Beyonce’s “Bodyguard” plays, she recreates Anderson’s CJ Parker in Baywatch, Barb Wire, and her 1999 MTV Awards appearance. Bey holds a magnum that says “Vote” in a seductive all-black ensemble.
Beyoncé publicly endorsed Harris at last week’s presidential nominee’s Houston campaign rally. A Houston native, Queen Bey delivered a powerful speech that potentially welcomed Kamala as the next President of the United States. To the audience, she says, “We’re all a part of something much bigger. We must vote and we need you. It’s time to sing a new song. A song that began 248 years ago. The old notes of downfall discord [and] despair, no longer resonate. Our generations of loved ones before us are whispering a prophecy…a quest…a calling…an anthem. Our moment right now is time for America to sing a new song.”
GloRilla, Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Eminem, Fat Joe, Lizzo, and Megan Thee Stallion also joined Harris on the campaign trail. After being announced as the official nominee by the DNC, Harris raised a billion dollars in funding. Beyoncé allowed Harris to use of her hit song “Freedom” as the Vice President’s campaign theme song.
“Bodyguard” appears on the singer’s Country award-snubbed album, Cowboy Carter. Hoping for “Album of the Year,” the singer submitted it to the Grammy community last month. The upcoming awards allow Beyonce to become the artist with the most Grammy awards ever. Cowboy Carter surpassed a billion streams in May with one of the year’s biggest debuts.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov.5, and the next U.S. President will be announced at the end of the day.
