Beyoncé was snubbed again, this time at the People’s Choice Country Awards, despite the success of her latest album Cowboy Carter. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer was nominated for an impressive 17 awards, including People’s Artist, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Female Artist, but she walked away without a single win.

Beyoncé’s fans, the Beyhive, are outraged, believing she was unfairly overlooked. The only recognition she received was a brief shoutout from Shaboozey, who won Best New Artist. In his acceptance speech, he thanked her, saying, “Thank you Beyoncé, you’re amazing,” before leaving the stage.

This isn’t the first time Beyoncé’s country album has been snubbed. She wasn’t even nominated for a Country Music Award, a move that sparked backlash among her supporters. Fans aren’t the only ones who’ve taken notice. Country legend Dolly Parton recently shared her thoughts on the situation during an interview with Variety.

“There’s so many wonderful country artists that, I guess probably the country music field, they probably thought, well, we can’t really leave out some of the ones that spend their whole life doing that,” Dolly explained, suggesting that Beyoncé wasn’t intentionally shut out. “I don’t think it was a matter of shutting out, like doing that on purpose. I think it was just more of what the country charts and the country artists were doing, that do that all the time, not just a specialty album,” she added, praising both Beyoncé and Cowboy Carter.

Despite the snubs, Beyoncé’s foray into country music continues to spark conversation in the industry.
