Bishop Lamor Whitehead has been sentenced to 9 years behind bars for scamming a member of his church out of her life savings.

We previously reported that the Brooklyn Bishop attempted to scam an elderly lady out of her retirement saving funds. The Bishop was found guilty on all counts including attempted wire fraud, attempted extortion, and wire fraud.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Damien Williams spoke on Whitehead’s sentence in a statement: “Lamor Whitehead is a con man who stole millions of dollars in a string of financial frauds and even stole from one of his parishioners. He lied to federal agents, and again to the Court at his trial. Today’s sentence puts an end to his various schemes and reflects this Office’s commitment to bring accountability to those who abuse their positions of trust.”

Whitehead previously shared a statement writing, “the story isn’t over it’s just a new chapter. Stay tune. God is still God. They can all laugh now and talk. After this Jesus will still get the glory..”

On Monday Judge Lorna Schofield sentenced the bishop for reportedly misusing his position as pastor of the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in Canarsie, Brooklyn.
