Following Hurricane Beryl, ripping through Texas, Houston native, Bun B, has stepped up. Although his restaurant has been closed because of the storm, he hasn’t let it slow him down. On Thursday (July 11), the rapper set up shop near a local church. There he dispensed over 1,500 burgers to those in need. He also distributed food at several other locations, including a Kroger. Along with the food distribution held at the grocery store, cooling stations and water were also provided.
Immediatley following the hurricane, the UGK rapper issued a message to his fans via Instagram. Bun B asked his fans to pray for the city and community. “With a high temperature of 93 degrees but heat index will go up to 103. Pray for our cities as we fight through this like we’ve done before. Cooling station and water pick up today @lakewoodchurch and I’ll post more locations in my stories as I get more info. Check on your friends and family in the greater Houston area especially the elderly and invalid today.”

In other news, Bun B recently testified in court about the harrowing night in 2019 when he and his wife were robbed. The rapper reveals that his wife, Queenie had answered the door while awaiting a package before the thief forced himself inside, holding her at gunpoint. Bun B managed to save his wife and overpower the assailant, even shooting him. However, the trauma has had a significant impact on them both.
“Just the idea of seeing my wife in this state, hearing her voice in this state. I’m her husband. That’s my primary job, to protect her and make her feel safe, and I wanted to know who did this to her.” The intruder, Demonte Jackson was sentenced to 40 years in jail. ABC 13 reported that Jackson, who was 20 at the time of the crime, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and engaging in organized crime.
