Cam’ron revealed that JAY-Z sent him a “weird” text after they performed together at the “B-Sides 2 Concert.”

On the latest episode of his new YouTube show “Talk With Flee”, Cam’ron recalled sharing the stage with Hov to perform their classic “Welcome to New York City” in 2019. The performance came after years of beef between the rap legends.

Following the performance, Cam was confused when J texted him.

“After the show, JAY hit me up like: ‘Yo, that was dope last night. That was really dope, I appreciate you guys putting this sh*t to bed and let’s rock out,” Cam said.

“He was like, ‘Yeah, man. See how much sh*t we can do when ni**as stop acting like there’s fake beef out here,” he continued. “That sh*t slows sh*t down.’”

The Harlem rapper admitted to feeling some kind of way about the text.

“I didn’t know what to make of it,” he admitted. “I was like, ‘Why would he even text that?’ But I still gave him his props,” Cam said. ‘No matter what, you, Dame, and Biggs gave me a chance to feed my family legally, so I’ve got no problem with it. But inside, I’m like, ‘Why would he even text that?’ I don’t know. Even to this day, I don’t have no problem but I thought that was weird.”

In the early 2000s, Cam’ron was signed to JAY-Z’s Roc-A-Fella but tensions would soon emerge. After Dame Dash attempted to name Cam’ron as the VP of Roc-A-Fella, JAY-Z vetoed it and their relationship was never the same. When they reunited at the “B-Sides 2 Concert” it was seen as a sign that beef was finally squashed.

Although they haven’t seen each other since the concert, Cam says everything is all good.

“I haven’t seen or spoken to Hov since then,” he said. “I respect what he’s doing business-wise, and I respect his music. Are we good? I hope we’re good! But if we don’t speak, it’s not gonna change what I got going on.”

When asked if he would ever collaborate on a song with JAY-Z, Cam was noncommittal.

“I’m not really doing music full-time, and obviously, he’s not either,” Cam explained. “So, that’s not on my radar, but I respect everything he’s got going on.”
