Cardi B and her estranged husband Offset have reportedly welcomed their third child, a baby girl. According to a source close to the couple, the “Bongos” rapper gave birth on Saturday, September 7th, after being induced. The insider shared this news with AllHipHop, though it’s unclear whether Offset was present for the birth.
Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Cephus, 31, and Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, 32, have been married for six years. They are already parents to daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 3. The couple recently came together to celebrate Wave’s birthday on September 4th, just days before the arrival of their newest addition.
This news comes amidst reports that Cardi is moving forward with her divorce from Offset. Back in August, she announced her pregnancy while seemingly addressing their split on Instagram. In her post, Cardi wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!” She added, “You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and cannot wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish.”
As of now, neither Cardi B nor Offset have publicly confirmed the birth of their daughter. Their most recent Instagram posts were uploaded to their stories about 22 hours prior to this report, leaving fans eagerly awaiting official word from the couple.
