The long-standing political feud between Cardi B and Candace Owens continues, as Donald Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 presidential election last Tuesday.

According to reports, Owens has sparked rumors questioning if Cardi was paid to endorse Kamala Harris during her presidential campaign. The right-wing commentator took to X, writing, “Hey @iamcardib. Working on a story and was wondering if you were in any way paid to speak at the Kamala campaign event you spoke at. Thanks in advance!” The Grammy-winning rapper swiftly responded, tweeting,  “I didn’t get paid a dollar and that’s on my three!! I actually came out of pocket for glam and travel because it’s somewhere I wanted to be.”

She quipped, “Like please girl you know damn well I’ll argue you down about politics FOR FREE.”

Cardi B Stands her ground against critics

Candace Owens isn’t the only one taking shots at Cardi. Just weeks ago, HOT 97 reported that the rapper fired back at Elon Musk, who criticized her for a teleprompter mishap at a Kamala Harris rally, igniting an online clash.

Musk shared on X, “Another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words.” “The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy.”

Cardi quickly hit back, “I’m not a puppet Elon.” “I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you.” She further emphasized her stance, stating, “But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle.”

During a rally for Harris before the election, Cardi revealed that she initially planned to sit out this year’s vote, but the vice president’s message ultimately shifted her perspective. This came on the heels of the rapper’s vocal criticism of President Joe Biden’s stance on U.S. support for Israel’s military actions in Palestine. Earlier in May, Cardi voiced online, “When it comes to Biden, I can’t support you because you’re funding a war.” “You’re funding a war where millions are getting killed.”
