Casanova, born Caswell Senior, is facing more charges.
The “Don’t Run” rapper was arrested last December for a federal racketeering case. In the latest update, he’s facing an attempted murder charge.
According to a superseding indictment obtained by XXL on Thursday (Nov. 11), Cas is being charged for a 2020 shooting that allegedly took place at a Miami gentleman’s club. The alleged incident happened at King Of Diamonds gentlemen’s club on Oct. 24.
According to the report, Cas and one of his co-defendants, Jarrett “Jaycee” Crisler Jr, were at the club when a rival gang member had issues with Cas allegedly throwing up a gang sign. The rival allegedly reacted and said “wrong sign.” Cas allegedly replied and said, “You want to die tonight?”
After the exchange of words, the rival gang member was shot along with another person, allegedly at the hands of Casanova and Crisler. Both victims were taken to a hospital and treated for bullet wounds.
The publication says authorities allegedly found out about Cas and Crisler’s alleged involvement in the crime by reading text messages on Crisler’s phone bragging about the shooting. Casanova and Crisler are charged with attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.
The Brooklyn rapper’s attorney James Kousouros, said they expected the additional charges and plan to fight them all. Kousouros said,
“We had been informed that the government intended to supersede the existing indictment and add charges against Mr. Senior.” He continued,
“This was expected. We have been investigating the incidents charged for months, and Mr. Senior fully intends to contest these charges at a trial. He is confident of his exoneration. He surrendered voluntarily when he learned of the indictment last year. He did not run or hide. He looks forward to his day in court.”
Casanova’s arrest last December was for his alleged involvement with crimes in connection with the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang. He’s also facing federal racketeering charges. Cas plus 18 alleged gang members are accused of committing murder, robbery, fraud, and the distribution of controlled substances. Cas is also facing charges of conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
If found guilty, Casanova could spend life behind bars.
