Chris Brown experienced a technical mishap during his concert on Tuesday night, leaving the R&B star suspended mid-air after a wire malfunction. The Grammy-winning artist was performing his hit song “Under the Influence” at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, when he was supposed to glide across the stage on wires. Instead, he found himself stranded in mid-song. Despite the mishap, the audience was initially unaware as Brown continued singing without missing a beat.
Visibly upset, Brown signaled for help from his tour crew while maintaining his performance. Eventually, staff members brought a ladder, allowing Brown to unhook himself and climb back to the stage. The crowd cheered as he safely returned, but his frustration was evident. He appeared to chastise a crew member before resuming his performance.
After safely descending, Brown continued his concert, but it was clear he was irritated by the incident. At the end of the two-hour show, he addressed the audience, expressing his anger but also making light of the situation.
Brown’s 11:11 tour, which kicked off last week, includes a segment where he glides through the air to a smaller stage in the center of the venue, performing songs like “Take You Down” and “Wet the Bed.” During these aerial segments, he also dances and sings upside down, showcasing his dynamic stage presence.
The Wednesday night concert featured a range of his popular hits, including “Go Crazy,” “No Guidance,” “Loyal,” “She Ain’t You,” “With You,” and his debut single “Run It!” Openers Arya Starr and Maeta set the stage for Brown, who will continue his tour with performances at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and conclude with two shows at the Crypto.com Arena on August 6-7.
