Aside from gearing up to start charging for sharing passwords, Netflix is making another change.
The platform will host its first-ever live stream show. Chris Rock has the honor of joining the platform with a history-making moment with a comedy special. It’ll be Chris’ second Netflix stand-up special.
VP of Netflix’s Stand-up and Comedy Formats, Robbie Praw said, Chris Rock is one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation.”
In the press release, Robbie went on to say, “We’re thrilled the entire world will be able to experience a live Chris Rock comedy event and be a part of Netflix history. This will be an unforgettable moment and we’re so honored that Chris is carrying this torch.”
It’s possible Chris will address Will Smith. He said a few jokes at different comedy shows regarding the Oscar’s slap.
All Hip Hop points out Chris has a lot of history with Netflix. His first stand-up comedy special, Tambourine premiered in 2018. A “remix” of the show aired in 2021, called, Chris Rock Total Blackout: The Tamborine Extended Cut.
The legendary comedian also took place in the Netflix is a Joke: The Festival this year. The upcoming comedy special is set to drop in 2023.
In other news, fans can see Chris alongside Dave Chappelle this holiday season. The December 1 show is sold out, a show on December 3 has been added. Take a look:
