Chrisette Michele has been receiving tons of backlash since the singer decided to perform at President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday.

After reacting with a statement, and being followed up by her fianceé’s not so kind words, the singer decided to answer the backlash one more time with a poem.

Titled “No Political Genius” she addresses the issue and basically told others to “start listening to each others’ point of view.”

She also addressed Spike Lee who announced that that her song “Black Girl Magic” won’t be included in his upcoming Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It.

“I am the black song Spike Lee won’t sing,” she says. “I am the black voice inauguration bells ring. I’m still black girl magic. I’m still American, tragic.”

Following the announcement of her performance, celebrities such as Spike Lee and Questlove reacted with various social media posts.

Check out her words below.
