Dame Dash has voiced support for JAY-Z, standing by him despite their past differences, as scrutiny mounts over JAY-Z’s ties to Diddy. According to HotNewHipHop, Dash, a former attendee of Diddy’s parties, addressed the mogul’s sex trafficking and racketeering charges on his American Nu Network, expressing hope that Jay remains uninvolved in the scandal. He stated, “To be honest, I really hope — like, the things that they’re saying are terrible. It’s hard for me to even think that any of those things could be true.” He continued, “I don’t want them to be true. You know, they’re saying they’re going to pick him up next. I don’t wanna see that man going to jail.”
Nonetheless, he added, “As much as he’s been f*****g with my money, I wanna hope that that’s the worst that he’s been doing. I would never want to hear that Jay was in a freak off party.” Dash also stated how “it would be such another big blow for Hip Hop” if Jay was implicated in Diddy’s alleged sex crimes; the revelations could send shockwaves through the music industry.
Dame Dash once commented on a 2000 party photo featuring him in bed with Diddy, JAY-Z, Jennifer Lopez, and Aaliyah at one of the mogul’s renowned gatherings. In an Instagram live, he stated, “Nah, I didn’t go to those parties…I went to one about 20 years ago in the Hamptons with Aaliyah but that’s about it. A lot of people were at those, you know what I mean?” Dash continued, “Ain’t shit happen in the Hamptons. That’s the day I met…that me and Aaliyah…we hung out there and then we left and that’s what happened. That was 20 years ago, that was not in L.A. or Miami. I know they gonna play games with those pictures. It’s all good, I don’t really care.”
Dame dash and jay-z ongoing feud
The bitter feud between Dame Dash and JAY-Z persists into 2024, now centered on a legal battle over Dash’s stake in Roc-A-Fella Records. To settle roughly $10 million in debt, Dash’s one-third share is being auctioned off. JAY-Z, however, is accused of undermining the sale by asserting that the copyright for his debut album Reasonable Doubt will revert to him in 2031. In a recent Instagram post, Dame accused the rap icon of “poison[ing] the environment for the auction” and spreading misinformation about the copyright, which he claims belongs to Roc-A-Fella until 2098.
