Dame Dash has continued to voice his criticism of JAY-Z, calling his former business partner a “terrible” marketer during their time at Roc-A-Fella Records. In an interview with Big Face Gary on America Nu Network, Dash downplayed JAY-Z’s reputation as a savvy businessman, stating, “JAY-Z was a terrible marketer. He’s the worst marketer of all time.” He challenged listeners to recall instances when JAY-Z supported his artists by jumping on their singles, asking, “Do you remember any Roc-A-Fella artist, when they had a new record, homeboy jumping on their first single?”

Gary responded, recounting a time he confronted JAY-Z about not collaborating with his signees. “Dame used to be like, ‘Yo, G, this don’t make no sense. He’s one of the owners of Roc-A-Fella Records; he refuses to go on records with his artist,’” he said. JAY-Z’s reasoning was, “[He said], ‘Yo, I’m an artist too, y’all forget that?’” Gary pushed back, stating, “But Jay, if you got a hit, you’re gonna make more money!” Dash agreed, stating, “You said it right. You validated my point.”

In contrast, Dash praised the marketing efforts of Kanye West and Cam’ron, stating, “The ones that were a little more proactive helping out their crew were the ones that, to me, were the best at marketing.”

Dash has also accused JAY-Z of unethical business practices, claiming, “He was double dipping,” referring to the money he made as both an artist and a Roc-A-Fella owner. Dash highlighted his success with other ventures, saying, “I did make a Kanye, a Cam’ron,” and noted that his company, Rachel Roy, generated over $100 million annually.

Currently, Dash and JAY-Z are involved in a legal battle over the ownership of Roc-A-Fella Inc. and its classic album Reasonable Doubt, with Dash’s one-third share being auctioned off to settle his $10 million debt.
