Dame Dash recently addressed an old photo of himself and Aaliyah from Diddy’s Fourth of July Party in 2000, which has resurfaced on social media. During a livestream on Instagram, Dash clarified that nothing inappropriate happened between them at the event. “Nah, I didn’t go to those parties, I’m sorry,” Dash said. “I went to one in the Hamptons about twenty years ago with Aaliyah. But that’s about it.” He further explained that they simply hung out at the party, and there was no inappropriate behavior. “But I know that they’re gonna play games with those pictures — it’s all good. I don’t really care,” Dash added.
This isn’t the first time Dash has spoken about Diddy and the resurfaced controversies surrounding him. Earlier this year, after CNN released footage from 2016 showing Diddy allegedly hitting his then-girlfriend Cassie at a hotel, Dash shared his disappointment on social media. “I know Puff, so it was very disappointing to see that from someone that, again, I considered my peer,” he wrote. “Someone that you know, because we’re the brotherhood of hip hop, showed a certain degree of respect. But you know, you can’t unsee that, and it’s really a shame.”
Diddy was recently arrested on charges related to sex trafficking. He pleaded not guilty and denied all accusations during his court appearance on Tuesday. Dame Dash’s latest comments aim to clarify the context around the resurfaced photo of him and Aaliyah, while also addressing his feelings about Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles.
