Dame Dash recently addressed the confrontation with Jim Jones, a feud brought to public attention by Cam’ron.
According to Cam’ron, Jones allegedly orchestrated an attempt to have Dash attacked at his art gallery. While the motivation behind the act remains unclear, the businessman confirmed the incident during an interview on “The Art of Dialogue.”
“That was true,” Dash admitted. “I’ve never experienced anything like that—someone I considered family trying to have me physically harmed. It blew my mind. The level of disrespect. It was so unHarlem, it was embarrassing. To think someone I raised would go to such lengths.”
The situation was reportedly made worse by the intent to humiliate Dash in front of his significant other. However, the Roc-a-Fella co-founder left the incident unscathed. Cam’ron later revealed that video evidence of the altercation exists, though he urged those who possess it to withhold the footage.
Tensions between Jones and Dash are not new. Jones has previously accused Dash of being a “culture vulture” and claimed he was never properly compensated for his contributions. Despite these allegations, Dash expressed confusion over the root of their conflict, especially given his role in Dipset’s rise to fame.
“There was no way that was going to happen without a fight,” Dash reflected. “What broke my heart was feeling like I raised everyone better than that. It was a black eye on everything I taught. It was embarrassing. Family disputes should stay within the family.”
Dame Dash’s comments shed light on the emotional toll the incident has taken on him. He lamented the public nature of the conflict, emphasizing the need for private resolutions, especially among those who once shared close bonds.
As the story continues to circulate, neither Jones nor Dash has publicly offered further clarity on their fractured relationship.
