Dame Dash claims he wanted no part of JAY-Z collaborating with R. Kelly while they were partners at Roc-A-Fella because of moral reasons.

During an interview with the “America Nu Network,” which was released on Oct. 7 (Monday), Dash shared his thoughts on why the Best of Both Worlds era.

While it may have seemed like a dream album, the Harlem native said that he was never on board with the project. At the time, Dash was dating Aaliyah, who had a sexual relationship with Kelly when she was a minor.

“It’s morally wrong to do a project with someone that we know raped my girl or raped anybody for that matter,” Dash explained.

“I do know when that project did come out, I didn’t want any part of that project,” he continued.

He also stated there was a fracture in his relationship with JAY-Z because of his stance against Kelly.

“It was around the time that Jay was trying to kind of separate himself from us…” Dash said. “I wasn’t diluting.”

Agreeing to allow JAY-Z to pocket all revenue from the project, Dash said he chose higher moral ground over profits claiming he had “no involvement” in the process.

Although he was seen in Kelly’s “Fiesta” (Remix) video that featured JAY-Z, Dash noted that never appeared in any scene with the singer.

“I was in ‘Fiesta,’ but only because Aaliyah said she wanted me to do it that way,” Dame argued at around the 5-minute mark in an interview with Hip Hop Motivators.

Dash’s alleged premonition turned out to be true. Eventually, Kelly was found guilty of sex trafficking, child pornography, and child sex crimes.

Kelly is currently serving a 31-year combined sentence for child sexual abuse at FCI Butner Medium I in North Carolina.
