In support of their new single, “Strawberries On Ice,” Davido and rising artist Emmerson hosted a star-studded private event in Los Angeles during BET Awards weekend.
“Strawberries On Ice” is Emmerson’s biggest track yet, and Davido, the most prominent Afrobeats artist, took the song to the top of the charts. Hailing from Sierra Leone, Emmerson is quickly becoming one of the breakout stars of 2024. The all-star attendance at the press event cemented his arrival in mainstream music.
Held at the L.A. hotspot, Poppy’s. The red carpet arrivals included Saweetie, Hit-boy, Angela Simmons, Eric Bellinger, Sukihana, Vedo, Lakeyah, Brandon Jennings, Kenyon Dixon, Moneice Slaughter, Torrei Hart, and more. Papoose presented Emmerson with an electrifying grand entrance while Davido worked the carpet.
The event highlighted the growing influence of Afrobeats artists on the global music scene, which in turn highlighted the dynamic synergy between the African and international music scenes. Today’s music continues to be influenced by the genre.
Released in June, the new collaboration is a buzzing hit about seducing love interests with delicious fruit and romantic gestures. Davido and Emmerson exchange persuasive lyrics over the upbeat production and radio-friendly hook.
