DDG has made it clear that he’s a proud papa, and won’t tolerate the disrespect of his son, Halo. In a vlog posted to his official YouTube account, DDG recalls many negative comments about his son. The rapper and his girlfriend and child’s mother, Halle Bailey recently shared photos of baby Halo. The couple have been together since 2022. Following that, the post received an onslaught of negative comments, says the rapper. While most comments were directed at his relationship with the singer/actress, a few directly addressed his son. “It just makes me mad,” DDG began.

The rapper believes that commenters were trolling him because they were jealous of his success: “… I have to realize that my son is richer than them and he has a more successful life. He’s in Italy at 6 months, he’s been across the world already and only been living for 6 months. They’re broke, poor, can barely eat, probably on welfare and grown probably living with their mama.”

The pair gave birth to baby Halo quietly in 2023. Earlier this year, Bailey gave a sneak peek into how she successfully hid her pregnancy for so long. However, the move elicited a mixed response from fans. Bailey’s Instagram post, divided fans who understood her reasoning and those who did not. While attending the 2024 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards, Bailey finally explained what led her to conceal her pregnancy.

The Little Mermaid actress says it was “no way in hell,” that she would broadcast the “biggest joy” in her life. The singer continued: “There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone,” she told the crowd. Bailey believes that Halo was her “gift” and she had “no obligation” to share that special moment with anyone but family.
