Denzel Washington promotes the new album by actor and recording artist Aubrey Joseph on Instagram.

The 26-year-old, who also goes by Aubrey Omari, posted a video of the 69-year-old award-winning actor encouraging social media followers to stream Omari’s new album, Welcome Back, set to release on Friday (April 18).

“Here with my man Aubrey, go that album dropping on Friday,” says Washington. “That’s a good young man, this my man. Friday, go get it. Go get it. Go get it.”

The video received positive feedback from Aubrey’s followers. CJ Fly commented, “That’s the craziest album promo ever,” while another user wrote, “GOT THE GOAT DOING HIS PROMO YALL NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE!!!!!”

The popular entertainer DC Youngfly expressed his admiration by commenting with several fire emojis, “Fire,” in the comment section.

Aubrey Joseph played Tyrone Johnson/Cloak in Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger. He stars in the 2024 film Bosco, co-starring Tyrese, D.C. Youngfly, and Vivica A. Fox.

Joseph is a childhood friend of the late rapper Pop Smoke from Brooklyn. As Aubrey Omari, he released his debut EP in 2020, which included his biggest hit, “Cold.” Welcome Back, Omari’s debut album, will feature previously released singles “24: A Letter To Breeze,” “Keep It: Money On My Mind,” and “Drive.”

Joseph is one of the many black actors Washington has supported in film. Many of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Omari Hardwick, Edris Elba, and the late Chadwick Boseman, credit Washington and his wife with assisting them throughout their careers.

Ice Spice is making her acting debut in Spike Lee’s upcoming thriller, High and Low, which is currently being filmed in Washington. The film will premiere on Apple+ in 2025. Washington’s love and support for music runs deep, from Jay-Z to Cardi B to Moneybagg Yo. In March, the actor honored Lenny Kravitz as he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
