Sean “Diddy” Combs is one again seeking release on bond, just two weeks after his arrest. TMZ reports that sources close to the matter indicate that the music mogul is assembling a formidable legal team in hopes of achieving that goal. According to newly filed court documents, Combs’ attorneys have submitted an appeal challenging the latest ruling that denied him bail. This marks his third official attempt to gain release from custody as he awaits trial.

Sources state that Diddy has added two more lawyers to his legal team, both of whom have high profiles in their practice. Anthony Rico has been brought aboard as well as Alexandra Shapiro. Rico has earned a reputation as one of the nation’s most skilled trial attorneys, while Alexandra is widely regarded as a top-tier appellate lawyer in practice today. It looks like Diddy is gearing up to assemble a top-tier legal team.

Diddy’s current state

On September 16th, federal authorities detained Diddy at the Park Hyatt New York in Midtown Manhattan. He appeared in court the following day, where he faced charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and facilitating prostitution. His arrest followed a months-long investigation, including federal raids conducted six months earlier at his Los Angeles and Miami residences as part of the probe into alleged sex trafficking. Diddy has vehemently denied the accusations, which have surfaced in both criminal and civil cases. He entered a plea of not guilty, with his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, asserting that the mogul is “an innocent man with nothing to hide.”

Diddy was denied bail despite his legal team’s offer of a $50 million bond and strict conditions, including limited visitors. U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter ruled against the request, citing concerns that the mogul remains a public safety risk.
