Sean Combs can’t stop, won’t stop giving back to the community.
On October 18th, Sean “Diddy” Combs surprised students at Capital Preparatory Bronx Charter School to promote an education-forward message for the upcoming school year.
The Capital Preparatory school system, which started in 2005, offers a college preparatory curriculum for grades 6-12. Currently there are four campuses – two in New York and two in Connecticut.
According to BX Times, Diddy showed up unannounced to the school he co-founded and donated $1 million to help open. He was greeted with joyful yells and high fives from a room of about 150 students.
Diddy shared with CBS about what being a co-founder of a school for black children meant to him. “It was something that was always a dream for me and a passion, and I’m just blessed that it was able to happen”. He added, “I think it’s having an impact. I mean, not I think, I know it’s definitely having an impact on the community, so it’s a dream come true.”
The Capital Preparatory Bronx Charter School opened in 2020 in partnership with Sean “Diddy” Combs. School officials say that since opening, they have had a 100% success rate with college admittance.
