Sean “Diddy” Combs after receiving a request from New York Mayor, Eric Adams, has returned the key to the city. The disgraced mogul was awarded the key in a ceremony last year amid the release of his Love album. Earlier this month, Adam’s office sent requests to Diddy’s New York and Los Angeles headquarters. According to Fox News, the key was returned on June 10.
In a letter obtained by Fox, Adams says he was “deeply disturbed” by recent footage of the Bad Boy CEO. He continued: “I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence. Our city has worked tirelessly to make sure survivors are heard and seen by our administration.”
“I strongly condemn these actions,” Mayor Eric Adams says
Adams added, “The Key to the City of New York is presented to individuals whose service to the public and the common good rises to the highest level of achievement, and who act as a model for fellow and future New Yorkers.” He continued: “After internal deliberations, the Key to the City of New York committee recommended nullifying and rescinding Mr. Combs’ key.” Last year, Cassie sued the Diddy and accused him of rape, physical abuse, and human trafficking.
Nearly one day later, the pair settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. The former couple were together for 11 years, from 2007 until 2019. Following the video’s release Diddy hopped on Instagram to offer an apology. More recently, Rolling Stone released its scathing exposé about his dark past. The expose explores allegations of violence that go back as far as Combs’ days at Howard University.
