After returning the key to the city of New York, Diddy will reportedly have his key to Miami Beach revoked.
According to TMZ, the decision to take the Bad Boy Records founder’s key to Miami is currently in the final stages and the city’s officials are expected to finalize the move after the process was delayed because of Hurricane Milton approaching the Sunshine State on Wednesday (October 9). The state was been recently hit by Hurricane Helene which has killed at least 230 people from Florida up to the Carolinas.
Diddy was honored with the key former Mayor Philip Levine at the Revolt Music Conference’s welcome ceremony at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel. The next year, the city of Miami declared Oct. 13 as “Sean Diddy Combs Day.”
In June 2024, the honor was rescinded after both his homes in Los Angeles and South Beach were raided by Homeland Security.
But losing the key to the city is the least of his worries. In September, federal authorities arrested and unsealed a 14-page grand indictment that charged Diddy with sex trafficking and racketeering. The document accused Combs of abusing women for over a decade and “presided over a sordid empire of sexual crimes.”
The federal prosecutors alleged that Diddycoerced women “to fulfill his sexual desires, safeguard his reputation, and conceal his conduct,” and accused him of inducing female victims and “male sex workers to engage in drugged-up, sometimes days-long sexual performances” dubbed “Freak Offs.”
Additionally, federal agents discovered guns with removed serial numbers at Diddy’s residence.
Despite the charges and evidence stacked against him, Janice Smith Combs, Diddy’s mother, released a statement on Sunday (October 6) in defense of her son.
“I come to you today as a mother that is devastated and profoundly saddened by the allegations made against my son, Sean Combs. It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,” the statement read. “To bear witness what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words. Like every human being, my son deserves to have his day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence.”
If found guilty of all charges, Diddy could face life in prison.
