Sean “Diddy” Combs has unexpectedly surfaced in court documents related to the murder of Tupac Shakur, a case against Duane “Keffe D” Davis, 61, who is accused of orchestrating the 1996 drive-by shooting that killed Shakur in Las Vegas. Davis has previously alleged that Diddy offered a $1 million bribe to have Shakur murdered, though Diddy is not a suspect in the case.

In a 2009 interview with Las Vegas police, Davis claimed that Diddy paid Eric Von Martin, a high-level drug dealer, to assassinate Shakur. These allegations were recently cited in a court filing aimed at denying Davis bail following his September 2023 arrest for first-degree murder. According to the Daily Mail, the documents reference Diddy’s name 77 times, primarily due to Davis’ ongoing accusations connecting Diddy to the murder.

Despite these claims, Diddy is not currently a suspect, and it remains unclear if this status will change. Davis’ frequent mentions of Diddy are now a key issue in his bail hearing, with prosecutors arguing that Davis should be held in custody due to his previous statements implicating Diddy.

A transcript from the case details Davis’ reasoning behind the alleged plot. Davis told authorities that Diddy wanted Shakur dead to exact revenge on Marion “Suge” Knight, the then-CEO of Death Row Records, where Shakur was signed. According to Davis, Diddy was motivated by fear and a desire to undermine Knight. When questioned by police in 2009 about Diddy’s involvement, Davis replied, “Yeah, I think he did,” suggesting that Diddy was intent on eliminating Knight’s influence.
