Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino), has regretfully shared that he’s postponing his Farewell Tour. The trek is in celebration of Glover’s Childish Gambino alias. Donald Glover jumped on X to share the unfortunate news on Monday (Sept.9). The Atlanta creator revealed he’s been dealing with an unknown health issue and needs recovery time. “hey everyone. unfortunately i have to postpone the rest of the north american tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks,” he began.

The “3005” rapper also urged fans to hold on to their tickets. Any of the tickets purchased for his North American leg will be honored. He added, “thanks for the privacy…thanks for the support…thanks for the love.” Glover’s Farewell Tour kicked off in early August and was scheduled to wrap up in October. He plans to kick off the international tour on Oct. 3, covering Europe and Australia before concluding on Feb. 11, 2025.

Donald Glover Retires Childish Gambino

Donald Glover revealed he’s shedding his former Childish Gambino alias in July. He told The New York Times living under the moniker was “no longer fulfilling.” The rapper/actor continues, “I just felt like I didn’t need to build in this way anymore.” Glover refers to his time as Childish Gambio as an extension of his younger self. “I think that kid really wanted a home,” he says.

“I grew up in the ’80s and ’90s — there was Oprah, Michael Jordan, Eddie Murphy; not a lot of alternatives for Black people.” The 40-year-old also opened up about how marriage and fatherhood have changed him: “I’m not 25 anymore,” he tells the outlet. “You give what you can, but there’s beauty everywhere in every moment. You don’t have to build it…You don’t have to search for it.”
