Donald Glover shared his perspective on the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, highlighting the significance behind the beef. While talking about his upcoming project, Bando Stone in the New World, Donald Glover said he found the feud “negative.” He added, “I feel like there’s just people not having enough fun…When I was a kid, there were big things that would unite us, and I just feel bad for y’all. This generation just does not get—y’all get, like, bad stuff. Everything that everybody can get in on is usually f*cked up.”

The rapper and actor continued: “Even this year, the most fun we’ve had was from a fight. A song from a fight, from a rap beef,” Donald Glover said, alluding to “Not Like Us.” Glover added, “Which I enjoyed every minute of. It was very fun. But still, kinda negative in a certain light, I guess…but I’m bringing back simping, positive simping, and trying hard. A lot of this sh*t is wack.”

Although it’s unclear what initially caused the tension between the two, as time passes, their ongoing beef continues to fester. It appears the issue between Lamar and Drake kicked off following the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which featured a fiery rap from Lamar, where he took multiple shots at Drake. The “Headlines” rapper quickly fired back with “Push Ups,” where he not only called out Lamar, but Rick Ross and The Weeknd.

He would eventually follow that up with “Taylor Made Freestyle.” However, the track was removed from social media due to threats from Tupac Shakur’s estate, after he used AI-generated voices of Pac and Snoop Dogg. Drake then responded again with “Family Matters.” Not long after, Kendrick fired back with “6:16 in LA” and “Not Like Us.” The latter has been breaking records across multiple streaming platforms. The rapper recently partnered with Amazon Prime for a “pop-out” event in LA at the Kia Forum.
