Former President Donald Trump misgendered Reggaeton legend Nicky Jam, 43, while introducing him at the Las Vegas rally over the weekend. While introducing Nicky to the podium to announce his endorsement, Trump mispronounced him as a “woman” due to the name.

“Latin music superstar Nicky Jam. Do you know Nicky? She’s hot,” Trump said to the crowd of supporters during the Friday event at The Expo at World Market Center.

As the legendary entertainer approached the podium, Trump realized his mistake and laughed as he hugged him. “Oh, look, I’m glad he came up,” Trump said.

Nicky would then tell the former President, “We need you.”

Nicky Jam would take the podium wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat and proceed to pledge his allegiance to Trump, grateful for the opportunity to meet the former President. “People that come from where I come from, they don’t meet the president. So, I’m lucky,” he said. “We need you. We need you back, right? We need you to be the president.”

Nicky shared a photo with Trump after the rally on his Instagram but deleted the post shortly after. He captioned the post, which translates as “the filly, the big shot,” “Nicky Jam la potra la bichota [laughing face emoji].”

Before the “Travesuras” hitmaker announced his endorsement, fellow Reggaeton artists Anuel AA and Justin Quiles endorsed and joined Trump at his rally in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Nicky would receive mixed reactions over the endorsement on social media.

In the upcoming presidential election, Nicky Jam joins a roster of rap stars to endorse the former president. Others to join Trump on the campaign trail include Lil Pump, Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, Kodak Black, and Fivio Foreign

During the last days of his previous presidency, Trump would pardon Lil Wayne and Kodak Black.
