On Saturday (Aug.3), the father of one joined his OVO brother on stage during his Party and Friends show in Toronto. Toward the latter end of his performance, the 6 God shared with the audience that the two were working on a collaborative album. Drake hinted that the project could be expected to drop later this fall: “I know all you girls are outside and when it gets a little chilly, PartyNextDoor and Drake album will be right there for you,” he told the crowd.
Following his recent beef with Kendrick Lamar, this project could be all Drake needs to salvage his reputation. No other information — like a release date or album title — has been released. Will Drake Bounce Back From Beef With Kendrick Lamar?
Following the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which featured a fiery rap from Lamar, a flame had been lit. The “Headlines” rapper quickly fired back with “Push Ups,” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Kendrick fired back with two more tracks, “6:16 in LA” and “Not Like Us.” The rapper recently partnered with Amazon Prime for a “pop-out” event in LA at the Kia Forum.
In other news, DJ Mustard blames Drake for the lackluster sales of his Faith Of A Mustard Seed album. The producer claims the Toronto rapper, DJ Akademiks, and Gordo SZN sabotaged his album rollout. On Friday (Aug. 2), he hopped on X to share his frustration. Mustard refers to the rap star as the “Malcolm X” of the white community. “Drake is the Malcolm x of white people [laughing emoji],” he said. “And @Akademiks make sure you post @GordoSZN first week since drake thought he did a thing with making him drop on the same day as me [laughing emoji].”
