Drake and Omarion went head-to-head in a dance battle on Thursday night (Oct. 24) as they celebrated the 6 God’s 38th birthday at Escape Nightclub in Houston.

As a surprise musical guest at the birthday party, Omarion performed several fan-favorite songs as Drake passed out bottles of Don Julio 1942. During the event, Drizzy challenged Omarion to a dance battle, and the singer happily obliged. Drizzy also played unreleased tracks at the private birthday event.

A well-known dancer, O performed a few signature dance moves before welcoming Aubrey Graham to perform his moves. Drake would laugh off his participation, hug his friend, and tell O, ‘I’ll dance battle you anytime.”

This isn’t the first time Drake has challenged an R&B singer to a dance battle. After feuding, he and Chris Brown collaborated on “No Guidance,” which included a music video where the 6 God would hilariously lose in a dance battle against the best dancer in music.

Drizzy and O’s friendship goes back to 2009. The two collaborated on Drake’s breakthrough mixtape, So Far Gone, on the track “Bria’s Interlude.”The album celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019.

Both entertainers were briefly signed to the same label in 2009, Young Money, a subsidiary of Cash Money Records. Omarion released one song with the label before leaving, while Drake became the label’s top priority and an icon. Omarion has repeatedly talked about his departure from YMCMB, including contract issues.

This summer, the 6 God relocated from California to Texas. With the new single “Modo Capone,” he collaborated with local artists like Chino Pacas. Pacas’ new album, Que Sigan Llegando Las Pacas, was released on his 18th birthday and features the new song.
