Dwyane Wade responds to Cam’Ron walking off the It Is What It Is set after hearing his plans of a nail care brand.
While on the CBS Morning show, Wade opens up about his plans for a nail care line. When asked why he paints his nails in the first place, he explains, “expression… I’m creative; I’m expressive. And there’s so many ways to do that. (I’m) actually thinking about jumping into the nail-line… world.”
He continued: “Like, I’ve been in it so long. And I’m like, You know what, it could be a good time, but I got some cool ideas, and I’m exploring.”
The former NBA player goes on to say he uses polishing his nails as a way to bond with his daughter. “One of my favorite things to do when it comes to this is actually sitting down with my daughter and getting my nails painted and painting hers. That’s the time that we get to connect. Me doing something that she loves and also that I love.”
While discussing the story on the It Is What It Is podcast- Cam’Ron seemingly wasn’t too fond of the idea as he got up and walked off set.
Wade found humor in Cam’s reaction. He comments on the now viral clip, “it’s the oh my goodness for me (laughing emoji).”
“Love the connection @dwyanewade has with his daughter and the true confidence he has to not let societal norms block that relationship nor his expression. It ain’t for everybody. Just let ppl live..” commented one fan. “Him getting mad then slingin that purse around his shoulder the next moment is priceless..” reacts another.
During a previous interview, Wade says keeping his nails groomed was inspired by Michael Jordan. “At first, I thought I was like, I can’t get no polish on my nails; I just got to do (a) buff because I come from a community where if you do anything outside of the masculine norm, you’re gay.”
