Fetty Wap has been sentenced to 6 years behind bars after pleading guilty to drug charges.

The New Jersey rapper has been behind bar since August, awaiting trial. Wap was said to have displayed a firearm and threatened to kill someone while on a FaceTime call. He also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

Prosecutors reportedly sent a letter to the judge last week, requesting a long sentence for Wap as he’s saidhad used his fame to “glamorize the drug trade” while making millions from his music after “Trap Queen” was released in 2015.

“Young people who admire the defendant and are considering selling drugs need to be sent a message that selling drugs is not a glamorous lifestyle and, if they participate in that trade, they will receive lengthy prison sentences,” wrote Breon Peace, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District.
