Flavor Flav Celebrates Four Years Of Sobriety In October

Flavor Flav is looking forward to achieving a significant milestone in his life. 

To commemorate World Mental Health Day, the Public Enemy legend announced he will celebrate four years of sobriety on October 19.

Taking to Instagram, Flavor Flav to share the good news about his mental health journey.

“October is an important month for my mental health. Next week, I am 4 years sober from alcohol. And today is mental health awareness day,” Flav explained. “My mental health is an important part of my sobriety journey.”

“I talk to a therapist. In fact, I talk to two. I gots a crazy schedule and travels, my manager recommended trying out Sonia – an AI therapist that has been there for me like Janet Jackson says – Any Time Any Place,” he continued.

The “Flavor of Love” star said that we wanted to “bring a little more happiness to the world” by helping others.

“I always like to be the first to do something revolutionary. This is something special that has the ability to help so many people,” Flav said. “I reached out to the Sonia team to cover the cost of subscriptions for anyone who signs up today. Help me help you. 👍🏾🙏🏾🫶🏾”

Earlier this year, Flav talked candidly about his drug addiction claiming that he spent nearly $2,000 a day on crack cocaine

“I kinda maintained myself very well while I was on that s**t. I kinda kept it hidden, you know what I’m saying? So a lot of people didn’t really know,” Flav explained. “They were trying to figure it out, ‘Yo, is he on something?’ Because I never let people know what I was doing… I started letting people know what I was doing when I was getting tired of being like that.”

“There was a time that I was spending $2,400 to $2,600 a day for six years straight. You do the math,” he continued. “That’s how much I spent on drugs… I ain’t gonna lie, I sold a lot, but I was my best customer… I had a lot of money at the time too, I was just doing wrong things with my money… God wanted me to live.”
