Kodak Black is speaking out on his sexual assault case.
In 2016, a teenage girl in Florence, S.C., accused the Florida rapper of assaulting and raping her. The alleged incident happened in February that year. Kodak was indicted in 2017 for first-degree criminal sexual misconduct.
Kodak didn’t appear in court for this case until April of this year due to him facing other charges in different cities and restrictions due to the pandemic. The trial was initially set to begin in 2019, but a judge granted Kodak a continuance per his legal team’s request. The reason for the request wasn’t made public, Complex reports.
As a result of the case, Kodak was given an 18-month probation sentence and a 10-year suspended sentence. He also had to pay a $125 fine. Kodak was originally facing up to 30 years behind bars, but he won’t face any jail time due to a lower plea deal. Under the condition, he also had to take full accountability for his action and publicly apologize, which he did.
Kodak also addressed the victim, who watched the proceeding on a virtual live feed inside the courtroom. “I apologize this happened, and I’m hopeful we can all move forward,” XXL reports.
Kodak reacted to a Twitter post in the latest update, talking about the situation. This is the first time he’s publicly speaking out on it. The online user posted an article about the case and said, “Kodak Black rape charges. This you?” Yak responded, “That case terminated and ain’t have to pay nobody !!!! Everybody know I ain’t do it.”

In 2018, Kodak stormed out of an interview with Ebro in the Morning after Ebro said, “We take sexual assault here serious. We can’t get details, but we hope to have you back so we can have a deeper conversation about that because it’s a serious topic.”
Kodak was visibly upset, Kodak responded, “I feel like sometimes when niggas be going through sh*t, like, y’all be entertained by bullsh*t. Change the subject, or else I’m finna walk out.” That’s when the interview ended.
