Pras says he isn’t surprised about The Fugees’ reunion tour being canceled. According to TMZ, Pras shot down Lauryn Hill’s claims about “clickbait” and says he’s done “saving her reputation.” He also said the “cat’s finally out of the bag.” The two-time Grammy Award-winning group was expected to trek across North America, hitting nearly 18 cities, starting August 9.
Pras told TMZ that he empathizes with The Fugees’ fans regarding the constant delays. He notes that Hill’s actions also affect him and Wyclef John. The trio is still set to perform overseas for the European leg of the tour. Paris, London, and Stockholm are just a few of the expected stops. While Pras is weary, he tells TMZ he still hopes the shows happen, but it’s up to The Fugees’ fans.
Lauryn Hill’s Blaims “click bait” for Reunion Tour Being Cancelled
Following the announcement of the Fugees Reunion tour, fans were elevated, however, their hopes were quickly shut down. Ms. Hill shared a statement via Instagram revealing why the tour is no longer: “Last year, I faced an injury that necessitated the rescheduling of some of my shows. Regrettably, some media outlet’s penchant for sensationalism and clickbait headlines have seemingly created a narrative that has affected ticket sales for the North American portion of the tour.”
The post continues: “The trust and faith I have in my intentions and my commitment to my art seem to have been overshadowed by this unfortunate portrayal.” She goes on to say the show will continue overseas. “The audiences in the UK and Europe not only haven’t seen the Miseducation Anniversary performance yet, they also haven’t seen the Fugees perform together in over 25 years!”
