Future Teases New Album, ‘Mixtape Pluto’

Although he announced an upcoming mixtape, Yo Album Ain’t Slapping Like This, in May, Future changed plans and announced a new album, Mixtape Pluto, on the way.

There was originally a May 10 release date set for Mixtape Pluto, but it never materialized. Future shared a teaser trailer for his upcoming project called “Lil Demon” on Instagram on Monday (September 2).

The teaser previews a snippet of new music with a pre-save link to an entire album. In the snippet, Future raps, “My demon in the cut / Go raid it after church / You movin’ wrong, we clutch.”

The production credits for “Lil Demon” go to Smatt Sertified and Southside, both frequent collaborators of Future. Mixtape Pluto will be Future’s third album release of 2024 but his first solo project of the year.

Mixtape Pluto is poised to add another layer to Future’s prolific 2024, showcasing his ability to blend raw, introspective lyrics with cutting-edge production. Fans are eagerly awaiting the full release, ready to see how Future will continue to shape the sound of modern hip-hop.

Earlier in March, Future teamed up with Metro Boomin to drop WE DON’T TRUST YOU, a 17-track album featuring collaborations with Kendrick Lamar on “Like That” and with Playboi Carti and Travis Scott on “Type S**t.” The duo followed this up in April with WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, a 25-track album that introduced standout tracks like “Red Leather” featuring J. Cole and “Show of Hands,” where A$AP Rocky delivered more of his ongoing jabs at Drake.

Future and Metro Boomin are on the road with their “We Trust You Tour,” which kicked off in July. The tour has already energized audiences in cities like Detroit, Atlanta, Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia, and Toronto. With just a few stops remaining, including a performance in Sacramento on September 3 and Vancouver on September 9, the tour is set to conclude on a high note.
