G-Eazy reigned as one of the biggest names in music for a better part of the decade with smash hits like “Me, Myself, & I,” “No Limit,” and “Good Life.” As he returns to music after four years, the multi-platinum rap star talks to Steve-O about his absence and addresses fans’ concerns that he “fell off” during his hiatus.

On Steve-O’s Wild Ride!, Gerald addressed some of the negative reactions from fans regarding his recent commercial decline. “We had a great run, three albums in a row went platinum,” G-Eazy told Steve-O. “Then my mom died. And COVID, my mom passing, I just finally was like, ‘I need to reset.’”

He continued, “Then I’m reading the comments… ‘Damn, he fell off.’ I should not have done this, don’t ever Google yourself. One of the top suggested questions was ‘Is G-Eazy still making music?’ I was just like, ‘F*ck y’all! F*ck y’all!’”

G-Eazy’s albums These Things Happen (2014), When It’s Dark Out (2015), and The Beautiful & Damned (2017) all reached platinum status. However, his 2021 album, These Things Happen Too, did not continue this streak.

“I needed to give myself a break and take some pressure off the cycle of releasing music. And that comes at a risk,” he said.

G-Eazy also revealed his next full-length album will be titled Freak Show. It will feature tracks like “Femme Fatale” with Coi Leray and Kaliii, as well as “Lady Killers III.”
