GloRilla isn’t happy and calls out Rod Wave after he announced his new album would drop on the same day as hers. On September 26th, Rod took to Instagram to reveal that his upcoming project Last Lap will be released on October 11th—coincidentally, the same date that GloRilla’s debut album Glorious is set to hit streaming platforms.

Clearly upset by the clash, GloRilla calls out Rod Wave on his post, saying, “WHY DF WOULD YOU DROP ON MY DAY I’M FINNA TWEAK OUT.” Despite her frustration, Rod seemingly confirmed he had no plans to change his release date, sharing on his Instagram Stories, “La twin drop same night,” along with a photo of the two of them in the studio together.

GloRilla had just announced that Glorious would drop on October 11, sharing her excitement on social media: “GLORIOUS da album dropping 10/11 [fire emoji] So grateful to be sharing this with y’all and as a little treat I’m blessing y’all with HOLLON tonight at midnight,” referencing her latest single.

She also unveiled the album’s artwork, which fans quickly compared to Rihanna’s debut album Music of the Sun. “I really see the vision wait…” one person wrote, alongside a side-by-side image of both covers.

Interestingly, GloRilla’s grandmother had previously pointed out a resemblance between the rapper and Rihanna. “How come you didn’t tell me Rihanna and Gloria look so much alike?” she said in a voicemail.

Rihanna herself has expressed excitement about GloRilla’s album, messaging her privately, “You got all summer sis! I know dis wild hypocritical but when the album drop?” GloRilla shared the message during a recap of her time at the 2024 BET Awards.
