GloRilla recently took to social media to announce her decision to stay celibate until marriage. On Sunday, November 10th, she shared her choice on X, saying, “Single & celibate until God send me my husband.” GloRilla clarified she’s currently not seeing anyone and has no plans to enter a relationship until she feels it’s right.
This announcement follows a playful Halloween stunt where the Memphis rapper wore a fake baby bump and teased fans by claiming she was pregnant. She even named actor Abraham “Da’Vinchi” Juste as the fictional father, sparking fan reactions. But as she continued appearing in public, the joke became obvious.
This isn’t GloRilla’s first attempt at celibacy. Earlier in 2024, she challenged herself to a 90-day celibacy journey to start the new year, but humorously admitted the struggle only days in, tweeting, “I’m on da 9th day & my vision blurry af !!!!! Send help.”
GloRilla’s journey aligns with that of other celebrities like Omarion, who also embraced celibacy. On André Duqum’s Know Thyself podcast, Omarion discussed how celibacy allowed him to deepen his self-understanding. “When I decided to become celibate, it was because I was really just searching for something more for myself,” he shared, adding that it helped him manage the pressures of fame and his status as a “sex symbol.”
Reflecting on the reactions he received, Omarion said, “A lot of people would be like, ‘You ain’t out here fucking these hoes?’ And I’m like, ‘Nah!’ It’s more to life than that.” He explained that learning to control his impulses around food and sex gave him a sense of empowerment.
Omarion also humorously noted that he later discovered another famous musician, Lenny Kravitz, had also practiced celibacy: “I’m like, ‘Wow!’ That’s a different glow.”
