GloRilla is leveling up, and Rihanna sees it too. The Memphis rapper, known for her gritty bars and unapologetic energy, is stepping into a new spotlight, this time as the face of three of Rihanna’s powerhouse brands: Fenty Beauty, Fenty Hair, and Savage X Fenty. The February campaign marked a full-circle moment for Glo, who’s been a Rihanna fan since childhood.
In an interview with BET GloRilla shared, “I always tell her thank you,”. “Rihanna talks like really one of the homegirls. Whenever I talk to her, she talks like we homegirls for real. It be crazy that I get to talk to her like that ‘cause I’ve been a big fan of Rihanna since I was a little-ass kid.”
It’s clear the love is mutual. Rihanna’s co-sign is more than just a business move, it’s a nod to Glo’s growing influence. And like Rih, Glo’s embracing reinvention. When asked about her favorite Rihanna album, she didn’t go the obvious route. “I’m not going to be cliché and say Anti—I’m gonna say Rated R,” she confessed, pointing to the darker, edgier album from 2009. That same fearless energy is seeping into her own next chapter.
With her sophomore album on the way, Glo says she’s transitioning out of her Glorious era and into something new. “This era I’m in, everything’s been black and gold. Every year I’ll be changing what type of mood and area I’m in. I’m stuck in between two things right now for this year… but I’m going to step out of my Glorious era when I turn 26.”
Rihanna saw the star in her and now GloRilla’s proving she’s just getting started.
