GloRilla had a close call during her performance at the MTV VMAs on Wednesday night, September 11th. The Memphis rapper kicked off her set with “Yeah Glo,” transitioning into her hit summer track “TGIF.” While things were going smoothly, about two minutes into “TGIF,” GloRilla experienced a wardrobe malfunction when her bra strap came undone. To avoid an embarrassing moment, she held it with one hand while rapping into the mic. Despite the mishap, she stayed composed and kept the performance going without missing a beat.
Once she returned to the main stage, one of her backup dancers noticed the malfunction and fixed it, allowing her to finish the performance flawlessly. Social media quickly praised GloRilla for how professionally she handled the situation, turning what could have been a disaster into a minor hiccup.
Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla’s frequent collaborator, also took the stage at the VMAs, performing a medley of tracks from her latest album. In addition to performing, Megan co-hosted the event and wore several eye-catching outfits throughout the night. However, her tribute to Britney Spears’ iconic “I’m a Slave 4 U” performance went awry when she brought out a live snake. Megan had to stop the music, exclaiming, “I don’t know this snake, this snake don’t know me,” before handlers removed it. She joked, “I tried to hold it down for Britney!”
Meanwhile, GloRilla recently reflected on how online negativity, much like her recent wardrobe malfunction, can fuel her drive. Responding to a tweet claiming she had “fallen off,” she said, “Dis post ain’t do s**t but put a battery in my back… Keep going!!!” Fans are also excited to see more of her artistry, especially after hearing her vocal skills on a new Muni Long collaboration.
