A clip of Bobbi Althoff’s interview with YG being interrupted by gunfire began circulating on social media Tuesday (July 23).
Gunfire and dog barks began to go off as the two discussed sounds were heard throughout the neighborhood. After hearing a loud bang, Althoff asked YG what it was. “I think that’s a gunshot… like that’s some other sh*t,” YG replied.
After Althoff inquired about gunfire sounds frequently happening in their vicinity, another gunshot rang out. YG nonchalantly ignored the sound, saying, “That ain’t nothing.”
“That sounded like it wasn’t far,” said Bobbi.
YG asked someone off-camera if they just came from the park, which alluded to the whereabouts of the gunshot sounds. “Aye, Doc, you just left the park?” said YG. “It’s active up there.”
The clip ends with Althoff inquiring about the park and whether children are there. “Are they just taking their kids to the park today?” she asked.
The new clip is the latest viral moment by the popular podcaster. Previous viral moments have included high-profile rap stars like Tyga, Drake, Lil Yachty, and Offset. Before YG, Bobbi Althoff released a new interview with award-winning country singer Jelly Roll and his wife Bunnie XO.
YG’s appearance follows a string of new releases by the “Big Bank” hitmaker featuring collaborations with Stunna Girl, Babyface Ray, and Lil Yachty. The Def Jam Records recording artist will release a new album next month.
The interview was shot while the two were in Compton filming Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” music video. Footage of YG and Althoff at the park, where the identical outfits surfaced online while the video was being made.
The full interview has not been released yet. YG’s new album, Just Re’d Up 3 (4Hunnid/Def Jam), will be released on August 16.
