Ibtihaj Muhammad stepped into the spotlight after she became the first Muslim-American woman to wear a hijab while competing at an olympic event.
She sits down with Ebro in the Morning to discuss her experience, including times where she received death threats, and being ignored by her own coach allegedly due to her religion.
Muhammad was also very open as she speaks about how she was raised, her first experiences wearing a hijab, and the importance of having her own Barbie doll.
Her book Proud: My Fight for an Unlikely American Dream is available now.
