Jamie Foxx is preparing to discuss his high-publicized 2023 health scare in a new one-man comedy show.

On Monday, Sept. 2, the Oscar-winning actor and comedian announced his upcoming show, One More Chance: An Evening with Jamie Foxx, set to take place in Atlanta from October 3 to 5.

The performance promises to give audiences an inside look at the 56-year-old entertainer’s mysterious health incident, delivered with his signature blend of humor and heartfelt storytelling. Foxx shared the news on Instagram, teasing that this will be an unforgettable event where he reflects on his struggles and triumphs.

In the post, Foxx highlighted the emotional depth of the show, stating that it will offer a night filled with laughter, reflection, and connection. His announcement was met with excitement from fellow entertainers, including Chance the Rapper and Questlove, who expressed their eagerness to attend.

The show comes six months after Foxx hinted at sharing more about his health struggles during his appearance at the 7th Annual AAFCA Special Achievement Awards, where he accepted the Producers Award for his work with Foxxhole Productions.

At the time, Foxx stated that he would eventually address the health issues that kept him out of the public eye for several months in 2023, following a “medical complication” that interrupted his filming of the Netflix movie Back in Action. Despite the setback, Foxx returned to the set in early 2024 alongside co-star Cameron Diaz. The film is scheduled to stream on Netflix starting January 17, 2024.

Foxx has gradually opened up about the health scare. In July, he shared with a small group in Phoenix that he had experienced a severe headache, leading him to seek medical help.

His recollection of the ordeal was hazy, as he noted that he was unconscious for 20 days and had no memory of the events. Foxx credited his sister, Deidra Dixon, and his daughter, Corinne Foxx, for getting him the necessary medical attention.

In his upcoming show, Foxx will finally reveal more details about this life-changing experience, delivering a performance that promises to inspire and entertain his audience.
