At the Fanatics Fest in New York, Jay-Z turned heads with a stunning new accessory: a Bugatti Tourbillon watch valued at $340,000. This timepiece, designed by famed jeweler Jacob Arabo, is one-of-a-kind, and the rapper is the first to own it. Arabo shared the news on Instagram, posting a video of Jay-Z wearing the watch and writing, “My dear friend @jayz was the first to own the 5 time zone watch. 25 years later, he’s the first to own the bugatti tourbillon.”
The Bugatti Tourbillon is a marvel of craftsmanship, reflecting the elegance and power of the Bugatti supercar. “The Bugatti Tourbillon is the result of months of tireless collaboration between our teams,” Arabo explained. The watch’s 52 x 44 mm case is crafted to resemble the car’s body, featuring details like the front grille, side radiator inlets, and sapphire side windows. Inside, it boasts a V16 engine block automaton, carved from a single block of transparent sapphire, in a nod to Bugatti’s cutting-edge engine design. The timepiece also includes a 30-second flying tourbillon and retrograde hours and minutes, designed to mimic a car’s RPM counter.
This isn’t the first time JAY-Z has made headlines with his watch collection. Earlier this year, he was seen wearing a rare Rolex Daytona worth over $4 million at Michael Rubin’s July 4th white party in the Hamptons. This Rolex, one of only eight ever made for the Sultan of Oman, features an 18-karat yellow gold case, pavé diamonds, and a bezel set with baguette diamonds. In 2023, one of these watches fetched $4.2 million at auction.
Beyond collecting, JAY-Z has also made watches part of his business empire. Earlier this year, he invested in Wristcheck, an online marketplace for luxury timepieces, further solidifying his influence in the world of high-end watches.
