Jayda Cheaves recently launched a new promotional video for her Waydamin swimwear line on Instagram, but it hasn’t been received as she hoped. The video features Cheaves lying on a beach and removing her swimsuit top. As she is about to head into the ocean wearing only her swim bottoms, two young boys steal her top. This has led to confusion and criticism from viewers, who are concerned about the presence of children in what they perceive as a risqué ad. One commenter questioned, “Not butt naked with the kids?” while another expressed, “You don’t have to be a genius to know that this would be received poorly, cause why are you naked and your son is in this video? Like what made you think this would be okay?”

In response to the backlash, Cheaves clarified in her comments that the children were not present during any scenes involving nudity. She explained, “I am the brand… & the kids were NOWHERE on set after we filmed their scene OBVIOUSLY,” adding that it was important to include her son because he enjoys being on camera.

She reassured viewers that there was no ill intention behind the video, stating, “I just want anyone commenting to KNOW it’s nothing weird or ill about this video we ACTED out to leave a message and promote my latest launch.” Cheaves emphasized that her goal was to inspire women to feel “BEAUTIFUL, FEARLESS, and ACCEPTED WITHIN no matter what.”
