In June, it was revealed that Grammy-nominated singer Ella Mai was pregnant and expecting her first child with NBA champion Jayson Tatum. The couple shared the first photo of their child with family as Tatum and Team USA won a gold medal on Saturday (August 10) in the Paris Olympic 2024 games.

It has been rumored that the singer and basketball star have been dating for years. A report from People magazine suggested the two might date in 2020, as Ella Mai was spotted attending several Boston Celtics games in the same year. Before June, the singer kept her pregnancy a secret.

When videos of the couple with their newborn began circulating online, fans flocked to her last Instagram post, filling the comments with excitement and frustration. One fan lamented, “I’m so sad she didn’t get the chance to announce her pregnancy. Social media ruins everything; it would have been so cute.”

Another added, “I hope you announce your relationship soon. They are a beautiful couple. Congratulations on the baby.”

The couple’s newborn is Tatum’s second child. He had his son, Deuce, at 19. While neither Tatum nor Mai has officially confirmed their relationship, they relish this momentous year together.

Ella Mai is featured on Mustard’s new album, Faith of a Mustard Seed, on the track “One Bad Decision.” She released her latest album, Heart on My Sleeve, in 2022.

After defeating France in the Olympic Basketball Finals, Tatum and Team USA were awarded the gold medal. Team USA included LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Devin Booker, and Anthony Edwards.

Tatum struggled to find his rhythm on the court. Yet, despite the jests and light-hearted banter, fans unanimously agree that Tatum is a winner, both in his professional career and his personal life.
